Introducing the Thermo-electric-H2O-Reactor (TH2oR) – a revolutionary leap in solar water heating technology. This patent-pending system not only accelerates the shift from standard natural gas and electric resistance water heaters to advanced technologies but also aligns seamlessly with national, local and utility strategies for rapid decarbonization and the use of grid-responsive, distributed energy resources (DER).

For utilities and commercial developers, TH2oR is equipped to be part of a scalable, grid interactive fleet of water heaters managed by our Intelligent Grid Operation System (igOSTM). The intelligence currently manages energy saving microgrids and virtual power plants and can seamlessly aggregate plug-and-play, DER fleets as part of real-time, interactive grids.

TH2oR offers an alternative to standard storage water heaters and can even enhance heat pump water heater (HPWH) savings by using a revolutionary, low-impedance, low-voltage, DC heating element energized by solar PV to heat water. Unlike conventional solar water heating units that need inverters and clear sunny days to reliably provide power to heat up water or heating fluid, the TH2oR system uses an advanced electron excitation technology element (ExElement) to heat water. This accelerates the time needed to heat the water and also efficiently converts the electricity from the solar panels, to heat up the Water, even in low light conditions (200-300 W/m2) from sunrise to sunset.
